How Do I Control My Frizzy Hair?
Frizzy hair is something many of us struggle with. Frizz is mostly caused by a lack of moisture in your hair, but humidity can also contribute to it. Frizz also occurs when the cuticle layer of your hair is raised, allowing moisture to pass through and swell the strands.
Cutting layers into your hair can help combat poofiness, leaving it with gentle movement.Layers can also weigh hair down and prevent frizz.
Another way to control frizzy hair is by avoiding harsh, cheap hair products. Cheap shampoos add to frizz, making hair coarser by upsetting the lay of the cuticle. Look for products free from sulpphates, harsh detergents that make hair brittle and stiff. Choose shampoo that has glycerin high up on the ingredient list (the closer ingredients are to the top, the more concentrated they are) as it will help combat frizz by penetrating the hair shaft and hydrating it from the inside out. It also creates a protective coating over the outside of the hair shaft, so it won't break.
Never skip conditioner as its main purpose is to deposit moisture in your hair. Look for a conditioner that contains glycerin as well in addition to other hydrating ingredients like coconut oil and shea butter.
Controlling frizzy hair is easy with the right products and a little maintenance.
